COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This class is designed to meet your needs from your IEP and to allow you to meet your academic obligations. You will also work on life survival activities to help prepare you for life after high school. Such activities will include but not be limited to: money management, employment skills, time management, and post secondary education exploration.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Consistent attendance to class is extremely important to the success of the student. Students are expected to attend all classes every day, on time. A student is considered truant if they are over 10 minutes to class. After one truant a teacher-student conference will be held. If a student is truant 2 times a parent conference will take place. A discipline referral to the assistant principal will be done after three truancies. Student tardy, for any reason, more than 5 times a semester will be referred to the SAO.
COURSE EXPECTATIONS:
The expectations of the class are that you will come to class with materials to work on from your other classes or you will work on your transition curriculum.
You may not work in another teacher’s room unless you have written permission from that teacher, you have all of your assignments complete and you are passing all of your classes.
The exception will be to go to the teacher for assistance in a failing or near failing class.
GRADING:
Grades will be given for:
· Attendance
· Behavior/ Participation
· On-Task behavior
· Completed assignments
· 5 extra credit points for bringing in a box of Kleenex or hand sanitizer.
